Dhanuka Pathirana

Famous for his 277 runs off 72 balls, including 29 sixes, he is a regular in the Colts XI, Sri Lanka's reigning domestic champions.Dhanuka made several appearances for Prestwick in 2008.

Prestwick Professional Cricketers

There have been a series of talented professional cricketers who have served Prestwick well. Dhanuka Pathirana, Aamir Hanif, Jordan Sheed, Grant Stanley, David Harper,  to name a few. The season in 2010 sees the team re-united after some indifferent form in 2009. The strong junior contingent and a league in which Prestwick should thrive, means that pro or nor pro, PCC will be due some big performances.

Batting for the team

Season 2010 promises to be a good one for Prestwick. The Under 18’s impressed winning the Frank Smith trophy in 2009 and competing in the Western District league means that a more consistent team can be selected week in week out, which will allow players to gain confidence and score the runs and take wickets to win matches.

Clubhouse development

The plans to build a new pavilion and clubhouse have been on the backburner for a year now. It seems the current setup is sufficient until Prestwick rediscover the glory days of 1998 and 2002, when they reached the final of the Scottish cup and were crowned division 1 champs.

 

Cricket Scotland Awards

The end of season awards took place in November, and Prestwick all-rounder Calum Roger was a nominee for the second division all-rounder prize. Zahid ul Haq of Renfrew eventually won the prize, but it was due recognition to Calum who was Prestwick’s most successful batsman in 2009.
