4/7/16 - Kelburne toppled
With the 2s rained off, it was all eyes on the 1st XI. They put in a magnificent performance to triumph convincingly, beating Kelburne by 73 runs. A report for the game is on our Facebook page.
29/6/16 - Prestwick 1 - 0 Stenhousemuir
The 1st XI secured a precious win over rival Stenhousemuir this weekend, being them by 14 runs (D/L). Unfortuantely, the 2nd XI game was washed out by torrential rain. A report for the 1st XI game is on our Facebook page.
24/6/16 - Euan McBeth called up for Scotland U15s
Huge congratulations to Prestwick junior Euan McBeth who has been called up for Scotland U15s! He will take on Cumbria U15s at Carlisle CC this Monday (27/6). Euan has come right through the Prestwick junior section, and it is great to see one of our own going on to represent their country. Go well Euan!
20/6/16 - Clydesdale do the double
Clydesdale got the better of both the 1st and 2nd XI this weekend, as they beat the 1sts by 55 runs and the 2nds by 9 wickets. A report for the 1st XI game is on our Facebook page.
13/6/16 - 1st XI triumph over Uddingston
KPM Residential Prestwick triumphed over Uddingston on Saturday by 2 wickets. The start performer was undoubtedly Fazal Jawad, who scored a maiden PCC hundred, a staggering 121 not out of 79 balls. The St. Ninian's XI were less fortunate, losing out by 5 wickets despite posting 239. A report for the 1st XI game is on our Facebook page.
6/6/16 - Mixed fortunes against Ayr
The 1sts ran Ayr close, but ultimately ended up falling short in their chase of 246 by 22 runs. Calum Rodger top scored with 54. Thankfully, the 2nd XI got one over their local rivals, as they defeated Cambusdoon by 90 runs. Reports for both games are on our Facebook page.
29/5/16 - Ferguslie do the double
Both the 1st and 2nd XI fell to unfortunate defeats against Ferguslie this weekend. The 1st XI game was far closer than the 2nd XI game, as they fell to a 5 wicket defeat. The 2nd XI defeat was far more humbling, as we fell to a 176 run defeat away at Meikleriggs. Reports for both games are on our Facebook page.
22/5/16 - Drumpellier triumph over Prestwick
With the 2nd XI game rained off, all eyes were on the 1st XI as they traveled to Langloan to take on Drumpellier. Sadly, despite Rowan's 4/25 and MacDonald (33) and Miller's (32) contributions, we fell 51 runs short in our chase of 206. Very big week coming up, with tough mid-week matches against Irvine and Drumpellier, and we welcome Ferguslie to the Henry Thow Oval in a Saturday in what should be a cracking contest.
15/5/16 - 1st XI see off Dumfries
This weekend was a mixed bag, with the 2nd XI losing heavily to Nunholm by 139 runs, and the 1st XI losing heavily to Carlton by 10 wickets. However, the 1st XI kept their league campaign on track with a convincing 5 wicket win over Dumfries. Pitt, Rao, and Rafiq being the star performers in that one.
8/5/16 - Double win weekend for the 'wick
After last week's disappointment, a return to form was needed this week. Thankfully, both teams delivered and secured victory, giving our season the kick start it needed. Match reports are detailed on our Facebook page. Next weekend we take on a powerful Dumfries side, with good availability pivotal for both sides being able to challenge at the top of the table.
1/5/16 - Opening Weekend Disappointment
A disappointing first weekend of action for the Prestwick teams, as both the 1st and 2nd XI succumbed to defeats to Kelburne. The 1sts lost by 12 runs and the 2s lost by 7 wickets. Please see our Facebook page for match reports, and feel free to give us a like!
The match programme for the 1st XI match is also available by click the result link on the KMP Residential Prestwick XI page.
15/4/2016 - Mitchell Rao call-up for Scotland A
Huge congratulations to our off-spinner on his call-up for Scotland A! He will be playing alongside the likes of Kyle Coetzer and Preston Mommsen in a seriously powerful Scotland side, who will be facing Durham CCC 2nd XI; a side sure to contain some star players as well.
The club is immensely proud of Mitchell and his achievements, and we wish him all the very best at the Emirates Riverside next week (game starting Tuesday)!
6/4/2016 - New Training Ball Sponsorship
A huge thanks to The VAT Consultancy for their purchasing of 24 brand new training balls for our net/practice sessions! A much appreciated contribution, and one sure to have our seam bowlers especially delighted!
5/4/2016 - Junior Easter Coaching Programme
The Junior Easter Coaching Programme will be running on Tuesday 12th, Wednesday 13th, and Thursday 14th April. The sessions will be running between 10.30am and 12.30pm, at a cost of £2 per player per session. These sessions are suitable for anyone aged between 7 and 18, regardless of cricketing experience. Our Australian Junior Development Coach Tom Fleet will be running these, and we hope to see you down at the ground! If you do not know where our ground is, please refer to our Contact Us section.
29/3/2016 - Appointment of Andy Tennant as Cricket Development Coach
Andy Tennant, Head of Performance at Cricket Scotland, has been confirmed to continue the role he performed last season as our Cricket Development Coach. This will mean he will attend both junior and senior coaching nights, allowing all playing members of the club to take full advantage of his expertise and experience.
Andy is one of the most decorated coaches in Scotland, and eagle-eyed viewers will have spotted him on Sky Sports in the last few weeks as part of the Cricket Scotland staff in India for the World Twenty20. Retaining Andy is vital to our continued growth, and we are delighted to have him back for the upcoming season.
23/3/2016 - New Overseas Players
Indian all-rounder Murtuza Trunkwala and Australian keeper-batsman Tom Fleet have been announced as our new overseas players going in to our first season in the Premier Division.
Murtuza brings with him a fine cricketing CV, currently captaining the Maharashtra U23 State side. At just 20 years of age, he is certainly an exciting proposition. Murtuza replaces fellow Indian Abhishek Rajadhyaksha, who perfomed admirably during the 2015 season, and was certainly an integral part of the side that earned promotion.
Tom returns to the west coast of Scotland following a successful 2014 season for the 'wick. Tom will bring excellent glove work, high quality batting, and a competitive spirit with him; all of which he displayed during his previous time with us. He will also be helping out with junior training and hopefully passing on some of the cricketing knowledge he has acquired playing First Grade cricket in the highly competitive Gold Coast region of Australia.
The club would like to thank last season's overseas players in Tim Spence and Abhishek Rajadhyaksha for their service, both doing themselves proud on and off the pitch. They will be sorely missed around the club this season, but we hope we can rely on them supporting us during what will surely prove to be a testing inauguration in the Premier Division.
23/3/2016 - First game draws ever closer!
The first game of the season is rapidly approaching for both sides, with KPM Residential Prestwick XI playing Poloc at the Henry Thow Oval, and the St. Ninian's XI playing Shawholm, both on April 16th with a 1pm start.
23/3/2016 - PCC kit orders
With the season rapidly approaching, now is the time to order your 2016 kit. Prestwick CC leisure wear and 2016 playing kit are now available to buy on PSL Team Sports website.
